Inspecting the Doors & Windows on a Used Caravan

Brisbane caravans for sale are so diversified that you barely know what to look at first. The more specialists you ask for help, the more answers you will get. Basically, you need to inspect the whole caravan on the outside, but pay attention under it as well. This is where the rust first shows up.

As for the inside, there are more considerations, but it usually depends on your necessities. Ideally, you should have a list of must have features before even looking for used caravans, yet most potential buyers tend to ignore it.

Check out the doors

Doors represent some of the main parts of a used caravan, so they must be properly inspected. If you think that you need to open and close them for a couple of times in order to tell how good they are, you are wrong. When it comes to the main door, it must be locked very easily and without too much effort.

The mechanisms must move freely, while the hinges must be safe for your outdoor experience. A watertight fit is just as important and should cover the whole door. After all, you do not want any water to get inside through random cracks.

What about the windows?

Just like the doors, windows must be properly inspected in all the caravans for sale in Brisbane that you consider. Both windows and air vents might be responsible for damp if they are not properly maintained. Look for any small crack and double check it, especially if the windows are made of plastic.

On the other hand, double glazed units are more expensive, so there should be no internal condensation between the layers. If there is, replacing these parts will be a real challenge. Plus, if you choose an old caravan, you may not even find these parts.
